Sit I

Charcoal on kraft paper
I found two sets of 1960s "chrome" kitchen chairs discarded in the Katrina flood piles which I took apart, sanded, and painted, then stacked in various configurations with the intention of creating a welded sculpture. I made drawings of some of these to choose the best solution, but it was apparent that the piece would be more interesting as a continuously changing structure. This process was used in a performance piece in the video The Bride Contemplates Her Future in the Installations section under The Bride Stripped Bare By Her Brokers, Even.
